Well, I've been a bit away during the vacation but here's an update on the days..

25th - Family dinner with Caroline...great food...lots of fun.
26th - Stayed home almost all day, and played Maple Story.

Oh, yes, let me tell you about Maple Story. It's this cute Korean (Free) MMORPG where you can be an Archer, Theif/Ninja, Fighter or Wizard, and well you kill monsters and level up. The thing is that most of the monsters are actually cute, so it's pretty funny. There's also really cute clothes you can wear ($$$) and the music and setting is all typical korean. It's also a side-scroller, so it has some quirky 1990ies things like monsters pushing you off, and jumping mazes.

27th - Family dinner...great food...not so fun. However, in the evening, I went with Timothy to see the Aviator. It was an excellent movie... I really loved it, so I recommend it to all of you to go see it. It was superb.

28th - Downtown with Caro. I dropped the tofu :(

29th - Ate at Caro's house.

30th - Went to airport to pick up our guests who came back from New York.

31st - New Year's Party...drank a lot (still didnt' get drunk) and slept late.

And this weekend i've just been hanging around at home.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

This week was absolutely wonderful! On Wednesday, I went out with Caro all day and then we went to my house, then we went to party with Bob and Jung-Na. Just as I was telling Caro about Murphy's law (anything that can go wrong will go wrong), Bob still hadn't received his gift on time, mine was stuck in Lachine, and Jung-Na's brother had gone missing. Then, all within an hour, UPS came out of nowehere with 80% of my gift, Jung-Na found her brother, and Bob got his gift from the UK, as I was telling Caro Ionescu's Law ("and everything that went wrong usually gets fixed at the last minute"). The party was pretty cool...lots of drinks, drinking games, gambling and jokes and friends getitng together sharing gifts. I got a new wallet from Caro,a vase with plastic straw flowers, a bart simpson keychain and a cross pen!

Thursday I stayed at Jung-Na's till 2PM where we talked about all sorts of stuff...for once in her lifetime she seemed mature and grown-up and it was an interesting discussion on Bob and other parts of life. She also made up with her mom and sis which was really cool. Then I went home and slept/talked on the phone with Caro all day.

Friday Caro came to my house again in the morning to eat and then we went shopping at Sheseido for makeup, then we went to eat in Chinatown for xmas/her uncle's birthday. THe food was really good, and then we went to Bob's house. That's all for now.

Tomorrow Caro is coming over to eat! Yay!

Anyways, it's a really cool week and I'm happy to see Caro so often! MARRY XMAS!!!!!!

I still haven't gotten my math and physics grades yet =(

Caro got 99 in math... as always :P

Anyways, today I was fixing some SpamFighter bugs and trying out a new DLL loading mechanism, as well as doing more signature fixes. I also wrote WSPCloseSocket for ReactOS, and I some FsRtl kernel functions. I'm almost done with the NSP Code...

We've decided our (b00bz, juny, cawo, me) party will be Wednesday...probably starting at 5PM or something. We're gonna exchange gifts and...stuff.

Anyways, now I'm running to Futureshop to buy some things (like Bob's gift :P, which I'll probably end up using too lol).

We also set up our xmas tree last night and we got new lights and it looks really really coool...today I'm cleaning up the house because we are having guests coming over the 22nd staying for 2 or 3 weeks, from Germany...old friends of our family.

W00T!

Finals are over, school is over, and I'm now on vacation! It's time to update this blog daily again.

Well here are my vacation plans:

- SPAMfighter Completion + Internationalization.
- Having Caro over for XMAS with my mom and other activites (skating maybe?)
- ReactOS Networking + More kernel design/implementation Issues.
- ReactOS New Source Tree Migration to SVN from CVS.
- ReactOS Debug APIs Implementation and hopefully get Olly to work.
- ReactOS New Header System

I've also been invited to Linuxworld Expo in Boston, at the .ORG Pavillion, where I will be an exhibitor for ReactOS.

I finished my x-mas shopping and I also got a free mini ipod from www.free-ipods.com but Caroline doesn't want it anymore so I'm feeling really ackward about it. Sigh.

Today I got a really special haircut.
I feel weird now after getting it, it's kinda...weird. Anyways, my hair is short now, with gel spikes, and blond highlights! It kind of looks like a fauxhawk but more spiky and with blond hilights... I don't think it's that bad...and it's original :P I think Caro likes it more !

I played a bit of pool today with Bob, before that I went with Caro to buy her new coat from Bleu Marine, which I think looks just wonderful on her!

In other news, I've received another blackmail/threat letter from my frustrated father. Remember when I didn't want him to read my blog because it hard personal info? Well now he doesn't want me to write HIS personal info in it...how ironic...the tables have turned around. Since I believed in freedom of information, I opened my blog to everyone and stopped complaining about privacy of people reading it. So I guess he will have to learn with his privacy being open. He wanted the right to read into my life, well that means he needs to accept the right for everyone else to read into mine.

Some funny parts from his email: "I think you forget who was watching TV, I was sending out thousands of applications and practicing while you were mocking me". Actually, I was watching Power Rangers back then on TV, but we are speaking about the present. I don't remember me moking you, I remember training you to practice. But then again, you're getting old and short memories are the norm, it's not your fault.

"It's not my gf, it's my fiance, we are getting married soon, and her name is Cati" Congratulations!! Maybe this is private info again, oh well, I'm telling the world! The woman who my dad cheated with is not his GF anymore it's now his FIANCE and her name is CATI. Does anyone care??? Didn't think so!

"Even if I'm sick and tired, I've never heard anyone caring about me". Let us remind the audience that when my mother told him to lose weight he would end up yelling or beating her. Or that when I was worried that he doesn't have a job yet, he sends me blackmail. This reminds me of some evil madman killing everyone around him and complaning nobody cares. Hint in life: blackmailing or yelling at people who try to help you does not help you.

"Please don't tell people I don't have a visa anymore" Why not? It's always better to be a registered illegal alien then a non-registered one right? Oh, and if anyone from the INS is actually reading this, Hi! I'm glad to have an american government company reading my blog. What brings you here? Send me an email; oh, you can't deport him till 2007. "This isn't information that should be on the Internet"... ah..hearing this corporate slogan just made me feel to spill all the beans out...but I'm too tired. Nothing bugs me more then someone trying to halt my right to free speech. Having never signed a non-disclosure agreement, and what I'm saying not being lies or defamatory remarks, but only facts, there is nothing illegal in me saying my opinion, or telling facts. God, I really want to talk about the porn stash you used to have on your PC...I guess I'll leave that for another entry!

Oh and this is the best...a "Cease and Desist" message from my father. You know, the kinds that companies send to hacking websites in hopes of getting them to shutdown after revealing major bugs in their software. Usually these letters only create mass media attention and make the corporate company look dumb, and more people downloading the hacking information. In this case, I have been warned that if I do not modify or remove my previous entry, "all further communication with me will be interrupted". Wow, sounds almost as scary as a lawsuit. Anyways...I will delete/remove my entries over my dead body. Don't ever threaten me again??

Oh and to finalize... yes I will sleep more, as soon as school is over, there's only 2 weeks left. No, I won't miss school due to diarrhea anymore because it's over now. Oh oops, I guess I should send threatening emails to myself because I told the world I had diarrhea! Oh no! I'm going to go to jail.

In more intresting news then my father who has nothing better to do then try to threaten me, I saw National Treasure wednesday with timothy and it was really good! You should all go see it!

Ugh...I don't know what's up with me... I can't even describe explaining it in words... I've been having a crappy week, probably the result of the past week's stress. I'm having daily diarrhea in the morning, so I couldn't go to my two chemistry classes Tuesday and today.

I am extremly depressed... I haven't been this depressed for as long as I can remember. I feel as if my life has been a complete mistake since the first day, and that I made all the wrong choices. For example, I've now realized that I need to take 8 courses in my last JAC semesters, including 4 tough science courses... I originally wanted BIO2 and ORGANIC2 to be part of them...but now I realize that those wouldn't help me for computer science or engineering at all. I want to take CalIII or LinearII, but I'd much rather take those courses in university...and they are hard, and I really want a final mega-boost in 4th semester. I'm thinknig instead of taking Stats...the teacher is super easy and the course is pathetic. And univerisites don't care...it'll just raise my R-score... but lately I've been thinking about chaging Organic Chemistry 2 with Forensic Chemistry.... the teacher seems cool, and the class is much more fun and interesting... but still, it just feels weird, as if I'm becoming some kind of "Social science freak".

I'm also angry at myself for missing many classes these last two weeks...but I can't say it's my fault, as in voluntarily missing them. It seems everything is working against me! How can I go to class when I shit non-stop from 7AM till 9AM? I can't possibly bring a potty in the bus. It really sucks. I'm really glad that I got the best grade in the class on my math exam, and all I have to do is do good on the next phyics and chemistry (>80) and then I should have all my science grades >80%, without counting in the final. But sometimes I feel like I might just lose it at the last moment.

I feel empty as if nothing matters anymore and as if I can just throw everything in the air and start over. Thoughts like dropping out of school and just managing my own company and moving to somewhere isolated in some weird country. Then I remember how much I love/need my girlfriend...she's the only one keeping me alive right now...just thinking about her makes me get a grip on myself again...and seeing her is like a gift every day. It's too bad she has so many exams these weeks, or else I would take her out in the most wonderful places...I hope I'll be able to do that this Christmas...it's pretty rare for someone to be so in love after such a long time, but I still am, and I'm glad about it...I feel like I always have...

I have got to pick myself up together next Monday... Saturday it's Bonnie's birthday party and I'll probably go to my girlfriend's house... seeing children makes me feel better, and so will seeing caro. I guess I should be fine after that. I'm also making good progress in ReactOS, and it's one more thing keeping me focused and not completely becoming a bum.

However, I think all this might also be caused by sleep deprivation. Lately, I've slept only 4 hours a night, and that's really not enough. It's a 50% reduction in normal sleep time, and I bet it's one of the reasons making me so fucked up. It happened last semester before, so I think I just need to force myself to sleep earlier. But it's a viciious circle...I just have to find a way to break it. But it's scary. Last night I was in the bus going home, fully awake, and then i suddently felt a pain in my eye and felt myself falling down and getting immediately back up (i fell down on the window handle of the bus, which banged my eye, insantly woke me up, and made me go back to raised position). Then 3 minutes later, the same thing happens, except this time the hit is on my eyebrow. It's as if my body totally shutdowns, and only the pain of the impact wakes me up. Anyways, it's morning now and my eye still hurts...I think it was completely squished.

Let me to continue to pour even more. My dad lost his job a couple of months ago, but he still hasn't found anything new..it's almost been 6 months, and I get the feeling that all he does is stay home and watch TV. I remember how incompetent he is to get out of his chair and actualyl get a job...if it wouldn't have been for my mom when they were still married, my dad would've never went to high up. Now I don't know what his gf is doing except not having any job at all. My mom probably won't get her residency till Summer 2005, but my dad's severance package ends in March 2005...so after that w'e'll have no more money at all. My mom getting a job also seems harder now...I always thought Quebec was guarnateed, but it turns out only like 17 immigrants per year get a residency...and some places instantly refuse you if you haven't been in active practive for 5 years. And in the US nobody gave her a pre-match, so how knows. By the way, did I mention my dad doesn't have a Visa anymore so he can't even leave the US anymore, and I'm not even sure if that makes his stay there even legal.

That could be all, but that's not all. I also found out that one of my best friend's parents divorced, that they are completely broke and that her mom lost her visa. Since her dad is in another country, he wants to bring her back and her siblings so he can pay for them either. Maybe I shouldn't care so much, but this is a very good friend of mine and one of the only normal people that I've met lately...I don't have many friends, and I've lost a lot this year (because in my opinion, they werne't good friends), so it always hurts me to lose someone. It also brings painful memories of the past, when I've had other close friends leave...it also reminds me of the time I was supposed to leave, and how I felt during those times...and it finalyl reminds me of all the times that Caro almost left, and how bad I've felt. I don't even want to imagine what I would've done in that case...probably hijack the airplane and bring her back... I really couldn't afford one more person leaving my life...especially someone that I lost so much. So because my friend is leaving, I have this thought in my mind that the people I love in my life will all leave and I'll be all alone...I don't want to lose my gf to another country...and I don't want to lose one of the last few friends I still decided to keep...

In short, this has been one of the most fucked up weeks in my life.

Don't worry, this isn't becoming a habit...but once again I had a horrible week filled with work.

Wow, this has got to be the nastiest week ever…read below for my latest adventures these last days.

Monday:

Monday I went to school trauamatized by what was going to await me that night. I went to my English class late, and I didn’t have my book (Anne of Green Gables), but neither did 95% of the class, so the teacher got really mad and said bitch. Then in math it was more linear algaebra. The organic lab was fine, except I messed it up because the filter paper I used during filtration was bad. It was a dangerous lab that used bromine (it was bromination of trans-cinnamic acid => that will generate google hits!!!), and I only got a 35% yield instead of the expected 50-70%. When I got home, I started my work on the dreaded humanites paper. By 1AM, I had done 75% of it, excluding sourcing and footnotes, and I couldn’t take it anymore. I decided to continue doing it tomorrow.

Tuesday:

Hell got worse… by Tuesday, my mom became extremely sick and had to go to the hospital, which kind of shook me even more. Then, I realized that not only must I finish my humanities paper, but also a physics lab, the chemistry lab report, as well as read 120 pages of the English book. But that’s not all… I also had to go buy a laptop…because I hadn’t paid it for a week since the bank is continuously freezing the funds for I-don’t-know-what-reason. Because I was out of funds in my Paypal account, I had to call my boss in Denmark during dinner to ask him for a prepayment of my salary (around 25%). Then I had to go to Longeuil and pick it up…which of course meant that
I wasn’t able to go to math class, and I also had to skip humanities. I got to loneuil fine, I must say their metro/bus terminal is amazing, and extremely high tech…it’s like a giant American airpot, with all the stores and food courts. However, the bus tickers are extremely expensive, 3.25$ each, and the buses have a digital money counter so they see exactly how much you’ve put. I got the laptop, but because the boxes were to heavy, I made the mistake of leaving them in the bus stop. When I got home, I finally got back to work on my humanity paper. By 1AM, I had everything but one question left to do, and still no footnotes. It was becoming clear that I needed to act fast for tomorrow, since I not only had to hand this in, but also the other reports. I also had to go to
Anjou to exchange two power supplies, then go to the Mission and finish setting up the computers. I ended up reading the book in the bus.

Wednesday:

In the bus, I took the laptop, and I finished the last question in the humanities paper..it was now completely done, except for the foornoting and sources. The English fine went by fine, and we finished at 9:55, which gave me the chance to start doing the sources, and adding all the footnote numbers. By 10:30, I had to go to Squash Class, which was pretty short since I finished my 2 matches quickly. I was back on my paper at 11:30. I finshed all the footnoting at 1:30. Then, it was time to print out every source I used, which amounted to about 70 pages, as well as my paper. Since I hacked the library computers, I did it for free, again. I’m not going to end up paying 10$ for my teacher’s silly wishes. Then I had to highlight every passage of the report that I used. All this was done by 2, at which pointed I put my paper in the teacher’s office (she wasn’t there). By the way, this teacher is called DORIS MILLER and it’s the crazy bitch that I’ve always warned myself I’d hate. At 2:30 I took the bus in directionf or lionel-groulx, I got there at 3:30, then I took the green line to get to Honore Beaugrand. I got there at 4:00, at which point I took the bus to get to the Anjou store. I went in, exchanged the 350W PSUs with a 400W and 450W (they had made a mistake), and took a faster bus on the way back to the metro. I got there at 5:00, and now I’m in the metro writing this. However, my little adventure doesn’t end here. I also got a call from the place where I got the laptop (remember I wrote stupid mistake..) and they told me that the city of Longeuil found the boxes
I left in the bus stop like an idiot, and that not only have I completely voided my warranty, but they might also get fined. Being a nice guy, I said I’d pay any fines, if it comes to that. Woot, I’m at Berri. The rest of today’s blog will continue when I get home, after the Mission network admistratio stuff I have to do is done.

Well I’m back…the Mission stuff went by fine… everything works fine with them now…I talked with Wayne a bit about ways to cut costs and to switch to Videotron. Tonight I’m going to bed early…I’m so tired. G’nite!

Thursday

Today I didn’t go to school… my mom left to the states again…my gf woke me up at 11:30…I was sleeping cozily in her bed after having watched the new Smallville. I invited her to my house and we spent some time together. Made me feel much better after this horrible week. Then in the afternoon I fixed all the bugs that Daniel let me know about SPAMfighter. I also made a little ReactOS roadmap in my blog.

Friday

Today I lost my wallet so by the time I got to school, it was already 12:30. So I didn’t get my math exam back… I guess I’ll find out my math grade Monday! I went with Caroline downtown to buy some coats. I saw Thomas Xie and Dan, and also one of the asian girls at JAC that keeps bothering Caro about chemistry :P. Caro saw a nice coat at Bleu Marine but they were out of stock, so they are going to call her Monday/Tuesday and I’ll go get it for her and bring it when she has time.

Bob was trying to get HL2 and NFS:U 2 to work pathetically, and I was hungry, so I called Jung-Na if she wanted to cook for 3 people. Unforunately, this other azn bitch came too, and by the time she was drunk, she decided to call her boyfriend and they started making out while poor Jung-Na was banging her head all over the place. Bob was trying to calm her down but her stupid azn friend kept trying to dance with her and God knows what. When we all finally went to bed, the stupid azn girl kept making out with her boyfriend making the sickest noises. In a moment I ‘ll never forget, Bob got up and yelled SHUT THE HELL UP ITS 3AM THIS AINT UR FUCKEN HOUSE. No noises were heard after :P. Jung-Na made chocolate for us in the evening, but the azn bitch ran away with it in the morning. If I ever see that azn bitch again, I will beat her up!

Now that exams and projects are over for the second midterm, I'll be able to post more regularly. Sorry but I really had a shit week.

Not much news to report except for the bunch of exams I had and finally the Chemistry Module due tomorrow...I also implemented the APC patch in ReactOS and fixed KeStackAttach and Detach.

Google updated their index to 8 billion pages so I'm finding a lot more info, and I've also done tons of work in SPAMfighter and we are thise close to a final release.

Guess who's back, back again?

Well well well, it's been a *really* long time since my last blogging...it's not that I've forgotten or gotten bored of it...it's simply that a lot has happened and well, I didn't have the energy to write it all down and whatever. However, I've "back-blogged" everything since last week, so simply scroll down to read history. I've blogged everything today assuming you will start at last Friday, or else you'll be really lost.

Today was a wonderful day...I think my sleeping problems are over...I woke up at 11:30 again, which means I missed my math class...I called Caro so she'd call me back, she came to my house and played with my new Lego, and then we went out till 7PM. That was pretty cool!

I'm currently at Smallville Season 3! I've finished Episode 2, which is the end of the Season Premiere. Clark blew off Lana again, sigh...I have a feeling I'll hate Lois Lane in Season 4.

Last night I prayed to get a good grade in the organic chemistry exam, then I set all my alarm clocks at max volume and protected them to wake me up... result, I woke up at 8:30, and all the alarms were turned off by themselves and not at the place where I left them. I was really scared...but I went to school and was able to do the exam at 11:30 instead. The good news? Because I woke up late, I had 2 more hours to study, and that let me find out that complex NMR splitting was in the exam, which I hadn't looked at. Because I reviwed everything, I was able to get at least 3 points more in the exam (3/30 = 10%). I guess fate has its own ways.

After the exam, I stayed a bit with Caro at school and then I finally bought the Lego I wanted. The Millenium Falcon, from the Star Wars Commemorative Edition. I've finished building it and it looks extremely cool!

I've ordered the computers Julien ordered, and I've also added on MSN my seller associate from my distributor. He seems like a really nice guy, and I was able to make my first order (for Wayne's hard-drives). I ordered Julien's computers from the other place, and they should be here on Monday or Tuesday.

As for Smallville, I'm on the way on finally finishing Season 2. I'm glad Clark and Lana are finally going out together, but I know it won't last.

Physics Lab

I forgot to do my physics lab last night, but I was able to do it today...15 minutes after english, and 45 minutes after gym. It was a short one so I wasn't too worried. In gym we started the Squash Tournament ladder, and I was beat (by 2 points) by the weird Chinese dude called Lok. He's a Chinese version of EIM's Eddy. Then during the lab we had a problem session and quiz, and once again I got 10/10. I'm so good in Physics this semester it's not even funny :P

I've done some more merging from the HEAD ReactOS Tree into my branch, and there's another patch I'll have to make for HEAD for this to work.

I wasn't able to see Caro very much today :(

Apart from that, school was really boring...Math and Physics went as usual, and I didn't go to Humanities because I was really tired. I wish I had stayed till 4PM for Caro though...I felt really bad to leave.

Sleeping issues

Something really weird happend to me today...even though all my alarm clocks were set at 6:45, I only woke up at 10:30...which is really weird. Needless to say, that means I missed English, and since I didn't want to come 1 hour late in Math, I also missed that one. I came to school at 1:15, just in time for the Organic Chemistry Lab, where we did IR/NMR problems in preparation for the lab.

I've also started watching the last episodes of Smallville Season 1...they finally got better....oh and since I became very addicted to it, I asked Bob to bring them to me at my mailbox...but my mom took the DVDs I put in there for him back...so I'll have to meet him later to give them to him.

I saw Caro at 4PM and left with her home, and that was always cool.

Today I went to Bob's house for another one of our cool Gaming Sleepovers. We had XBOX, Computer, all the latest hottest games, TV, DVD, music, laptop and lots of beer. It was one hell of a night, especially sleeping in a basement with only one mattress. Bob hated his, so I invited him onto mine...I think Caroline would've laughed her ass off to see Bob and I on the same mattres sleeping super close to each others, tight in our covers.

I've also seen the first Episode of Smallville and I'm taking the first DVD home to watch.

Today was a very exciting day...!!!

So I go to English Class where we watch a movie....then..I suddently remember...shit! Caroline's essay! I had printed it thsi time, but left it at home. So after the movie ends, I rush out to the library to log into my g-mail account, where I had sent a backup copy.

Surprise surprise, it was in OPENOFFICE format... I then proceed on trying to find an OpenOffice viewer, but it needed Java.... another 7MB (15 minutes) download later, the java installer is ready..it runs..then it says it needs admin privileges. Bummer.

I run upstairs to the computer room, where we have admin privileges... After 30 minutes after which Java installs...the application can't actualyl read the new 6.0 format. I then spent 15 minutes on google finding an onlien conversion software. I convert it to DOC, but then the server crashes and is unable to send me the converted file...joy.

I then try my luck with abiword, another 5MB, plus the OO plugin pack, anoter 2MB. It installs, all the plugins load, except the one to load OO files, beause it only runs on Linux. WEEE!!!

At this point, my nerves are reaching their limit....it's been since 10AM that I'm trying to open this file, and it's now almost 11h15, and I'm 45 minutes late for class. I finally decide to open the file by hand. Being a computer hacker/programmer, I instantly notice the ZIP header. I open the file with winzip, and I now have 6 XML files, one of which is named content.XML. Joy for open source software! XML is human-readable. I open the file in Wordpad, strip out the formatting tags, and re-created them as Word tags.

I open the file in Word, and it's all there perfectly fine. I email it to myself, rush back down to the library..it's now 11h30... some stupid girl is recopying on a piece of paper an entire 5 page poem...she's at page 2. I act like an asshole an d keep coughing behind her to make her realize theres a computer RIGHT NEXT TO HER that she can use (only this one has a printer). She finally gets the point, I print the essay out, and rush upstairs to the locker to see Caroline just about to leave... I give her the essay and go to class.

Because I had went to the Morning Friday class, the hour of math I missed was the one extra I had done Friday, so I didn't miss a single thing :)

Then I had the Organic Lab, where we made Aspirin. I had a 44% yield, the highest ever, and a purity of 2 melting point difference (around 98-99%).

I'm still very sick however.

I also added extreme debugging to SPAMfighter OE and it now perfectly works inder Windows 9x/Me.

Whew, ReactOS finally built with the new KPCR. After 6 hours of tedious work...also, ntoskrnl finally started building with the new headers. By tomorrow I hope to make it all work with them.

We've also started something called "The Branch", in which we will fix the most highly broken features: Thread scheduling, APC, DPC, etc.

In the SPAMfighter front, I'm happy to say that I've fixed the block bug, and now it all works perfectly (Except clean folder that I have to test)..

I am however sick..I have a flu, my nose is runny, and it's pissing the hell out of me.

Oh, I also started working on my computer store's e-store interface..it looks pretty nice. I'll post a link to it tomorrow as well.

Well, after much work, I've managed to fix the bug that was messing up SPAMfighter OE under Windows 98/Me. I stubmbled into another one, but I should be able to fix it as well tonight. This is great news, as it gets me closer to completition of the project. I've also implemented around 30 new Kernel functions insode ReactOS, and noticed a lot of problems that will have to be tackled. Sometimes, ROS bores me, so I work on SFOE, and vice-versa...it really helps me mentally.

Apart from that, today was a really short day, with English Oral Presentations and 1 hour discussion, and then 1 hour of gym. There was no Physics Lab, so I went to my office where I do volunteering and installed Windows Server 2003 and set up my office, plus prepared for next week's work.

Oh yes, I've decided that instead of just telling people what happened to me today, I will also post some of my random thoughts.

Today's Food for Thought: Life outside our planet.

It seems to me that a vast majority of people and scientits have a fixation on whether there is life outside our planet, or more accurately, solar system. Similary, the question also arises on the fact if life existed even here, in our own solar system, eons ago.

For a variety of reasons, I don't think that "Is there life outside Earth" is the right question to ask. The right question to ask is "Are we alone?", and the earth-shattering result should be the "Yes", not the "No".

To me, it really doesn't matter if there's life outside Earth. Why not? Beause we probably
1) Can't communicate with them because they are too far
2) They might already be extinct since any radio signal or visual signal we could get from them would be up to millions of years in the past.

Also, statistically, it doesn't seem that inplausible that in a quasi-infinite space, the possibiity of molecules appearing giving rise to DNA has happened in other places. According to the most recent experiments on what is called "spontaneous apparition", the chances of H, C, O and N forming DNA/life are 10^173. So if there are more then 10^173 systems containing some of those chemicals (even 3 out of 4 is OK at the beginning), then life is a statiscal possibility. Now certainly, many would argue that there aren't more then 10^173 systems in the universe. There are barely that many atoms. However, I think the calculations done on this aren't entirely valid, because they limit everything to the strictness of how life developper, _here_, on Earth. Life is defined as anything that is "Self-replicating" and capable of "Self-support". It doesn't even need Carbon (Silicon can replace it), or DNA, or RNA. So it seems like common sense, that somewhere out there, life exists (note, I'm not saying intelligent life at, or above our level).

However, if it turns out that the answer is NO, that we are unique, I believe that raises many more philosophical questions... it makes the whole randomness theory become improbable, and makes life on Earth unique...and it's always hard to justify uniqueness using rational, scientific thoughts. But as Einstein said, "God did not play dice with the universe"

I'm quite a bit mentally dead tonight...weekend was pretty tiring and a lot of stuff are going on.

Friday, I managed to go see Shark Tale because the physics lab was only 15 minutes long. The movie was pretty funny, but it lacked the magic of Nemo.

Saturday, I went to buy a cake for my gf then I went to Bob's house, to be finalyl driven to Caro's house where we celebrated her birthday "en famille". I taught her little sister how to play Simon Says and it was really cute :P

I got her David & Goliath Winter clothes as well as True Star perfume (which smells reallllllllllly good).

Then on Sunday I finally had a bit of time off, but I was exausted for the half the day, so I prepared myself to do some work on SPAMfighter. MSN broke down in the afternoon, so I got really really bored (and my gf wasn't anywhere I could find her), so I decided to go to Indigo and have a cofee with Nelly, whom I hadn't seen since the end of Sec5. After about 45 minutes, I went back home, and then I talked on the phone with my gf.

Monday I'm trying to organize everything up, since a lot of stuff is currently in a mess. ReactOS header change, new implementations, SPAMfighter, school, ugh. Because school was relax this week I permitted myself to delve deep in ReactOS stuff, then it conflicted with SPAMfighter, and now everything is messed up. So once again, I'll stop working on ReactOS for this week until SPAMfighter is ready...I did another one of those switchies where my motivation turns around, and now I'm motivated back to SPAMfighter. I don't have any homework due at school this week, so that's all right for now (plus the monday off rules, because tuesday is getting cancelled, and my tuesday sucks).

Anyways, I'm going to do some re-organization now... see y'all!

Today was my girlfriend's birthday!!!

I went to school in the morning and after classes ended we both went to downtown. First stop was my house wher eshe picked up the gifts..then we went to chinatown to have some free bubbletea...then we went shopping a bit at Morning Glory and she bought some pens and a notepad. I also saw Tian there and talked with her for around a dozen minutes.

I had a horrible migraine this morning and I'm extremly tired so I will go to sleep early tonight.

I wanted to see a movie tomorrow with my gf but I don't think she'll want to because I finish at around 2PM. Oh well, hasn't been a perfect week anyways. Hope it will get better over the weekend.

Wow, today was certaintly a huge day.

I went to school till 11:30 today, after which I went back downtown to do a lot of work. First of all I went home to take some documents, then I took the 36 bus which took me from my house directly to 800 Place Square Victoria where I needed to submit them. After which I used the undergroudn tunnels to get to Peel, but first I made a stop at Bonaventure where I talked a bit with Sarah and took some cofee whose whipped cream gave me diarrhea.

I continued on with my trek and got to Peel, where I first went to Simons to get a gift(s) for my girlfriend. Then I went to La Baie to get the second gift, and on the way found something good for my dad too. While walking towards HMV to buy some CDs for my mom as well, I saw Podaru with his new asian girlfriend. Heh, some people don't change.

At HMV, I got the CDs my mom had asked me for, and finished my shopping for the day. I was completely broke. I finally walked home where I drank some juice. I still hadn't eaten anything because I had lost my lunch. I stayed home and my mother came at 5 and made some food.

Everythign else after was a normal day, as far as I can remember.

Well, I won't be posting the ALESH for today since it's been too long since my last blog, but I'm back to posting.

I got my 22inch screen and it's great...and yes, I did fail Biology, but I got a special waiver to do Bio I and II together next semester.

I'm also doing some heavy administrative work on ReactOS, and tomorrow I'll be back to SPAMfighter.

Oh no...where have I been? Heh.

Friday was a cool day...I went to school to get Caro's phone (to exchange it)...waited 2 hours for the Boss...who will exchange it for Monday. Then we went to my house for 30 minutes and then she left.

Saturday and Sunday, I've been working continously, non-stop, on SPAMfighter. I've cleaned up the code numerous times, made it more readable, used invoke, coinvoke, real APIs, modified the ASM parser, and now finally I'm adding invoke for local functions, for the ultimate cleanliness. The sum of these last 4 months is finally cumulating. I've had a major issue with the new APIs, but I've discovered the reason (Bound Import Table) and I think I've got a fix for it.

Tomorrow I start at 10:30, and I have my Math Exam. I hope I'll do good on it, it's a good motivator. On the other hand, I've forgotten to hand in my Lab Report to Charlie...I'm screwed.

Tomorrow I will also finally do something that's been on my mind for months now...that nobody knows...my dark secret...heh... wish me luck.

I had a wonderful time today...the Organic exam wasn't that bad, and I think I got in the high 70ies, low 80ies...I'm certaintly hoping to do better, but this is what I expected for this first exam, beacause I had missed 2 important classes because of Busses/Traffic.

Physics was cool and went by fast as usual, today we were taught capacitors, which I already knew, so nothing too big there either.

I finally got Caro's cellphone, but it turns out it's black and white, really cheap, no java, mp3 etc...except for the 1Mbit Internet which is _Really_ fast, everything else sucks. Tomorrow I'll try to change it for one of the color phones, which is also free...I don't know if that will work however, since unlike GSM, CDMA is registered directly to an ESN, so I have no idea how easy it is to desactivate and re-activate another cell phone, or even if they can keep the same number (Without cloning the ESN which isn't what they would do for a free phone for a student).

I got Amarok under Linux to stream me some nice music from DI.FM....makes a really good ambiance...if only the speakers would work 5.1...crappy on-board soundcard =(

Today I felt really happy... in a way I hadn't felt for a long time...it's as if my heart was being tickled in a pleasurable way...instead of the feeling of pain people usually associate. It was wonderful...and I smiled for hours after that... I steel feel like that... special unexpected things make you feel really great!

I've also decided to open up my blog to comments, pinging weblogs.com & friends, and adding a hit counter, since I got over 300 visits to Relsoft.net from this page...which means that over 300 people have read my blog only since September 1st. Hi everyone! Now that this is public, I'll try to use less inside jokes :P Oh, I've heard commenting makes people write really nasty comments...so I hope it won't happen. I suppose I should give a short profile of myself as well.

I'm 18 and a half, go to school in Montreal, Canada, and I'm a Kernel Developer for ReactOS (www.reactos.com) as well as a programmer for SPAMfighter ApS (www.spamfighter.com). Today was relaxing day..... in the morning in English some Maritimer Poet came to talk to us...he had a wonderful voice so he was nice to listen to...then I skipped Gym because I didn't have my clothes and was super tired.... I took this time to check out the deal Bell had for cell phone. Free 1X-CDMA phone and 25$/month for 100 minutes and unlimited weekend/evenings, plus I convinced the rep to give 2 years of free CallerID...also get the handsfree set, a pouch holder, and a car adapter included...anyways I got all that for my gf and her cell phone looks really cool. Just have to pick it up tomorrow at school since it was too busy today.

Then in physics lab it was a problem session (ie: talk), and then a quiz on which I got 10/10 again. Tomorrow I have an Organic Chemistry exam and I have a feeling I will fuck this one up (unlike Math/Physics which I seem to be doing very good in). Oh well, the Final replaces a Term Test so I guess this is the one I'll be replacing.

My mom tried to kill my cat yesterday so I'm not too happy about that either.

I sold my screen today and now I'm on my old 17'incher...looks small but still acceptable...I can't wait for the 22incher though...a massive beast. Oh and this monitor is white like the new one... I actually think white fits better...its more soothing for the eyes. Anyways...

I kinda feel like shit today because it's our 30th month together and I haven't done anything to celebrate...I really suck....if I won't have this exam tomorrow I'd be more enthousasitc...oh well, I'll try to do something tomorrow since we finish early.

When I got home today I was very pissed...I spent 2 hours in the 225 on Cavendish/Cote-Vertu. I have no idea why I didn't take the 216.

Plus, some more bad news:
- I have a bad feeling about the Chemistry Exam, which is thursday!
- I had a crappy Organic Lab again!

On to the good news:
- I seem to be doing really good in math
- I seem to be doing ok in physics...just need more practice before the test
- I'm selling my 19' CRT on Wednesday for 200$, and selling my LCD this week for 525$. 725$ but no screen...well I've bought a 22' CRT (Viewsonic) with an incredible resolution of 2048x1536@80Hz (works up to 2536x1940@60Hz). This will really help me for my eyes and also let me be more productive. This screen only cost me 290$ Canadian...with shipping it will go up to 350$. Still leaves me 375$ as profit.
- Phase 2 of SPAMfighter rewrite is complete...testing phase now in process and moving rapidly
- I may have found one of the only remaning golden keys to OE's COM interface...the MessageList event. I will have to work on this one after the rewrite.

Apart from that...my life is fine...I'm preparing for some renovations at my house...fixing the bath..thinking about wires in walls...thinking about replacing the moquet with parquet, fixing lighbulbs, clean up my office, put ceramic tiles instead of lineoleum, fixed 3 phones, got a new wireless base, and soon I'll install my chipset cooler from Timothy. So things are pretty active around the house which is cool.

I also don't feel tired anymore and my health seems way better....
On a final note, on the 22nd (That's tomorrow), I'll have been dating Caro for 30 months (2.5 years). W00t.

Else you'll have to use an RSS client. Oh, speaking of FFox, I found out it's the name for an adorable animal called Red Panda, of which there only exist about 2000 left in China. And also, let me tell you about www.spreadfirefox.com...I haven't joined, but I recommend you do. They already beat the 1 million downloads they wanted in 10 days, only in 100 hours. Help them reach 2 million!

I did some work on SF for the first part of the day and now I got it loading up. Then I helped Caro with her new Linux install (yup, she's one of them now), and now I'm trying to get ATI's drivers working...I don't really feel like signing up for Mandrake Club, so I'll try to compile/install them myself...they gave me some weird font problem i'm hoping to fix myself for now.

I've decided FUCK lcd screens, I will get myself a 22inch Viewsonic with 2048x1936@79Hz resolution, and try to sell my current LCD/CRT for 700$ together, so the screen will only cost me 200$ net.

I drank 10 glasses of wine this night so I think I'm going to head straight to bed..

Hello hello...

I'm back from the Premiere of Skycaptain and The World of Tomorrow... it kicked ass! I've never seen such good CGI/GFX in my life...it was amazingly cool, and had a great plot too (Except for the airplanes going into the water without exploding...you see..it's all a matter of surface tension...OK I stole this from Timo, I don't really care about it :P)

Microsoft called today and I now have an Escalation Engeneer as a direct channel between me and the OE Team. I've emailed all of them and thanked them for their great work and I hope we will be able to find a solution together Monday or within the week.

Caroline also installed Linux today...the install was a bit problematic with the mouse and screen resolution, but it seems to be all right now. The initial setup is always a bit of a pain...I'm trying to get a remote connection working so I can do some of the more complicated tasks (like setting up symlinks/path etc).

I'm dead tired now do good night.

Hello Ladies and Gents.

Today I was late because I overslept =(. I got to class 40 minutes later and once again missed stuff important for the Organic Lab... but I'll go see my teacher tomorrow and get some help from him.

Apart from that I had physics today with an easy in-class quiz where I got 10/10...it was patheticly easy. Then I went home to work on SPAMfighter, installed VMWare for ReactOS, and called Microsoft for Product Support for that question I wrote about earlier. After being transferred through 10 different, but very nice and qualififed people, I'm finally supposed to get called tomorrow by the Outlook Express team. I had to do a lot of concinving to get there, but I hope I'll survive tomorrow.

Tomorrow is Skycaptain and the World of Tomorrow day...It got 90% on rottentomatoes, so I can't wait to see it! I hope my gf can come, then I have to see it in the afternoon with Timo...but it's one of those movies I don't mind seeing twice :P

Oh well...gotta do my chem homework now!

W00T, just came back from the World Cup of Hockey 2004 and we KICKED FINLAND'S ASS!
I'm really happy for Canada, especially for Mario Lemieux...comes back after battling with cancer and a hip operation and serves as captain of a team that 0wn3d. He really deserved it, they all did.

School was the typical long day today with a bunch of courses...organic went by faster and was more fun, then I did humanities homework during the break, and finished Matrix Inversion in Linear Algebra. Physics was mostly revision of Electric Field and then Humanities was only 2 hours, which is a Good Thing.

Doris was telling us today how there are chemicals in the water that are making all boys/men fucked up and feminine, how in 25 years we'll be 10 billion, and how in 30 years we will run out of ressources and all die and there will only be 100 000 humans left and no animals and then there will be an ice age and WE WILL ALL DIE IF WE DONT SAVE CATS!

Time to work a bit on SF and do a stupid Gym homework. How the heck am I supposed to write 200 words about my squash skills...Geez.

Ugh...today I did not get a lot of sleep so I had a really bad day...I was totally exausted and bloated too so I had gaz problems and that didn't feel really good.

I also kinda sucked at my organic chemistry lab, and only got a 36% percent yield, instead of 40-60%. It also took us a long time and we didn't have binders. I definately gotta come more prepared to Organic Labs, now I know.

At home I almost completed re-writing the Graphics Core of SPAMfighter and there is only one big function remaning to be re-written...

Ughh...hiii.

Today I saw my father and went to see Resident Evil 2. It was a cool Zombie movie, not as lame as I thought it would be. Actually had some nice twists and the ending screamed "Resident Evil 3".

Then Jung-Na called and said if I was wearing an orange t-shirt... I looked all over the street but didn't find her until she came. Since I hadn't seen her last week when I was supposed to, I went to L2 to eat because I was starving. Then I went home...

I've been still working on SPAMfighter...there was a bug in the code compilation so I had to change about 100 things to make it work right...and the bug was something very insidious. Now there is still some little graphic bug but after I fix it the menus should be fine again. The app is now at 32kb (it was at 36kb yesterday). Load time is even quicker!

Ugh, school starts tomorrow. Yet another week of hell...

Oh, also, Mei is learning Fortran at Mcgill...that's rather funny I found, because nobody uses Fortran anymore... I thought my dad was the only dinosaur that still remembered it.

Finally, I've upgraded ALESH (Alex's LifE Status Header) to v.0.9 with two new features.
It's also got this new cool name.

Hmm...apparently I haven't blogged "in a long time". Well yeah, I've been busy, as Timo always says.

Last post date was the 8th...so...what happened on the 9th? Oh..it was Thursday. OOh! That was an exciting day. At 4AM in the morning, 7 trucks crashed into each others on Highway 20, blowing it up in pieces. Of course, I had no idea of this as I approached the 221 bus stop. I then saw a line of people going all the way from INSIDE the metro station to the bus stop, something I had never seen before (at least 100 people in line). Since it was raining, I assumed that the bus was late and it had just gotten there. Nevertheless, I got in line with the 211 bus, since even if it takes 10 more minutes to get to school, I'd actually have a hope of getting into it. Just then, another 221 arrived, and I ran back into the second line that had formed and got a seat (thank God...

...) because I ended up spending TWO hours on the Bus. This is because the highway being closed, all traffic was rerouted through small suburbian steets. It was hell, everything was clogged and full and couldn't move, policemen were desperately trying to make traffic work... all in all, it took 1 hour 30 to get to Dorval (it usually can take as little as 12-15 minutes). I called my Chemistry teacher on the road, and when I go to class 30 minutes later, he finally started the course, after blabbing on other things (coincidence? I think not :P).

That's pretty much it for Thursday... I had Physics after and then I went to Fairview with Caro.

Friday... I got to school, didn't go to math class because that class would've been a repeat of what my class Monday is going to be, but I handed in my homework and quiz. Then I left downtown with Caro where we went window-shopping and had some Bubble Tea. It was pleasant.

At home, I took out an old network card I found and put it in the Server, now the Network Works. I suppose the on-board NIC died or something, during the power failure. Anyways, onboard sucks so it's a bit faster when trasnfering over the LAN too, now. I proceeded to install my developer tools and I am now back to writing code for SPAMfighter. Linux is also working great, and WINE is much much better then what it used to be.

I've also watched some movies to kill time... Chronicles of Riddicik, which was surprisingly good, and Anacondas: Hunt for the Blood Orchid, which was a mediocre popcorn film...still enjoyable though, but full of cliches.

Ah, finally, today. Well today I was supposed to see my dad, but I'll see him tomorrow. I spent the day doing work in SPAMfighter and talking with the ReactOS people (worked on the Changelog) since our 0.2.4 release is Monday!!!

Windows NET server cannot find NETwork

Hallo hallo, it's me again.

I resurrected Timo's dead DVD drive (the one I was supposed to fix 4 years ago) in order to salvage my Windows Server 2003 install. The registry got repaired, and it booted up fine...except it won't connect to my router anymore. It's either "invalid IP" or "cable not plugged in". At this step, I'm still hoping some software problem (or maybe a router reset) would fix it. I've tried with 2 cables, so that's not the problem. At the worst, the internal LAN port died..but why would it? The router sees it as active! I can't reset the router yet though, since I'm downloading something off IRC and Bittorrent.

Apart from that school was fine. Tuesday is my big day (8:30 to 5:30 of non-stop classes, except a break in which I do homework). Chem was akalyl naming, break was humanities homework (1000 word summary of utilitarianism), physics was short as always, math was a one-hour quiz that took me 25 minutes (and I had the same answers as the girl next to me, who got 90% last semester). Then humanities with Doris Miller was well...priceless. Once again, I shall sum it up: "I think yelling and loud parties are unacceptable. It's not your right to do such things, it is my right not to hear them. So you either move in the woods, or not do it."

Here's hoping the server will work so I can get back to programming. Oh, the ghost image perfectly extracted and I got all my files out of it ;)

Today was a very shitty day!

First I wasted my time going to Futureshop, got yelled at for being late (Because the metro had just left), then found out it was CLOSED!

Then, I went to this place to get shoes for Caro, but the lazy bum seller couldn't find the shoes, so we both lost our time going there.

Then, my mom went crazy and made me go back home, so I had to leave Caro in CT. Then I ran my ass off until I almost had a heart attack to make the round-trip in 30 minutes...but I was still late.

Then I ate some good food and bought her some nice pants. The only highlight of the day.
Fuck Labor's Day!

Oh yeah, Podaru also lost my DVDs! So my mom got even angrier at me!

I also acted like a stupid prick today.
This sucks. The fuck with this day.

Hello from the Linux World!

Today, Sunday September 5th, 2004, marks my official switch into the Open Source World.

After months of switching to Firefox, Thunderbird, Sunbird, 7zip, Azureus, AbiWord and a host of other free and open alternatives to Microsoft products, Windows had nothign left for me, and I decided it was time to go inside the Linux Zone.

I was amazed by the simplicity of setup, and (lol) the well-designed x-sane scanner application. Everything seems to be runnign smoothyl (without Raid, since I found out the so-called "hardware" Intel raid is just a software driver hack for Windows XP). However, it runs just as fast, and perhaps even faster.

I am however experiencing a little dillema...the one of gaming. Granted, I dont' game much, but every now and then some killer game comes out. I know most run fine in Linux with WineX...but it's just not the same, especially since I play games the day they come out. And for all these games, I got really good hardware for them...so now it kind of feels useless since Linux doesn't need it that much. However, thinking about it from another point of view, it's not really that bad, since I was planning a major upgrade somewhere near my 19th birthday, with all the brand-new CPU/Chipset/RAM/GPU technologies that came out and will be mature by then. But then, if I only buy that computer for games, which I don't do much of, won't it be a waste? And if I start using it as a main machine, I'd drop Linux again.

So, thankfully, I've thought of this nice solution:

Until upgrade: Main P4 computer - Linux. Windows XP installed on a small partition on my second hard disk. Dual-boot whenever a new game comes out and I *have* to play it. No other apps except MSN for chatting during those days.

Backup P4 computer behind me - Windows Server. Main programming machine for SPAMfighter/other projects. Connection assured through Remote Desktop Connection Client.

After upgrade: New P4 Computer - Windows Gaming Machine. Takes place of current Backup Machine. Used extensively for gaming instead of dual-booting Linux Machine. Will also be the "Beta test" machine once Longhorn betas start.
Backup Machine - Becomes dedicatted developement platform.
Current P4 - Remains day-to-day Linux Machine.

Eventually, there will be further upgrades into the future (december 2005, early 2006) so that the backup server and current p4 will both become pentium 4 EEs, and their current CPUs will be sold.

Well my whole weekend has been busy with Linux, so thank god tomorrow there's no school.

Well...today was a weird day.

First of all, I wake up 30 minutes late...run to catch the bus for my 8:30 class...and I get kicked out for not having a new bus pass. This even though I showed the driver that I had 40$ on me, and that I would buy one at JAC (we have a store there).

If I were to buy a bus pass, I'd have to take the bus at 9, which would get me to school at 10. My class finishes at 10:15...so that was useless. I decided I would attend class at 11:30, when I have physics. However, instead of doing 11:30-1 = leave at 10:30, my head did 11:30+1 = leave at 12:30. So I told myself to take the nap..and by the time I woke up at 12...I realized that physics was no-go either. With school out of the question, and my mom begging me to go get her DVDs, I went on to Marianopolis (MaPo). What follows is a retelling of the sights.

As soon as I got off the bus stop, I called Kelly, who was in the same time calling me from her bus and waiving at me. She told me she'd be back in 15 minutes. I walked towards MaPo.

First person I saw, right in the doorway was Jia, talking about Christiannity with another Chinese girl. I waived and went on...when I was suddently attacked by Tina, the violin player. After a brief exchange, I pressed on.

I see Minzheng (dengdeng, the huge head from EIM), who is asking everyone "have you seen Carrie?". I think I probably misunderstood the name, and he is looking for Curry or something. In the same time, Kelly comes back, who also talks about Carrie with Minzheng. I still don't know who this person is. I walk with Kelly to Gavin's eating spot, where the ugly Kelly is also eating (the one that makes the EIM people barf). Gavin reports that Carrie is right behind, coming towards. I turn around to take a look, and lo and behold, 'tis Carrie Qin!

I am greeted by a big pamflet that's being distributed to everyone, "Marianopolis Chinese Club". I flip through the pages, and Carrie is the new president and ruler. That explains why every Chinese person is looking for her. While Kelly goes sell a 25$ used book for 40$, I intercept Ioana Antonescu, the EIM bol, and enter a nice discussion with her. After 10 minutes, Kewen finally comes and interrupts out of nowhere, and Ioana leaves. I give her the Math Book, and proceed to talk gossip with Kelly and Gavin.

Balblabla, they leave to class, I talk a bit with Kewen, then finally go to the student lounge, where Xiao, Lichen are talking. But first, I stop at Magazines Campus where I get a nice Wired Magazine subscription for only 40$/month, compared to the 85$ I currently pay by buying it at the depanneur. I join both their clubs (Origami and Bridge), and then Siwen comes. Suddently, Xiao and Lichen realize they have "to go eat somewhere" and leave, while Siwen is yelling after them "where are u guys going?". Siwen is thus left alone with me, which she seems to enjoy as much as a needle up her ass. She gives me a muffin. We fight. A guy comes to do her homework for her. I tell her to f*ck off, and leave, since Podaru (my main goal of the day) finally arrives...without my CDs.

I leave home, and return to my duties. MY MUSCLES REALLY HURT FROM SQUASH! I CAN BARELY WALK!

Wednesday is the start of my short days (3 courses, then 2 courses, then 1 course).
English was berable...then there was gym... gym was really cool. I beat everyone in my team at squash by like 14-0 or 14-4 or scores like that. Either they really suck or I'm really good...but it wans't fat guys or anything.

Then I had a physics lab where both power supplies were broken so we wasted 30 minutes trying to realize that (with the help of the electrician and teacher who couldn't figure it out until i said "maybe it's broken").

No homework for tonight either...and I feel really great today.

Today was a day like any other... chemistry in the morning, math after (I must admit that I Really like linalg..especially since I'm so good at it!), then physics (which passed by really)....but of course, the highlight of my day was Doris Miller, the humanities teacher.

Just like last week, this quote is sufficient and self-explenatory of her: "Oh sure, I would love it if there were a policeman in front of my door every morning...I couldn't ask anything more then to live in a country where there's a policeman in front of everyone's door. You shouldn't expect any privacy in public. I think there shoudl be cameras everywhere". I wanted to raise my hand and say that such a country did exist, it's called Nazi Germany. There's also Communist Russia.

But of course, I smiled and agreed.

I feel a bit happier today...but I had a weird discussion with my mom.

God...that song...it's everywhere. Those romnanian female-behaving / looking..ah..effeminated...singers (Trying to be politcally correct) are everywhere with their annoying eurodance song. Everyone is like obessed with Romania or something now. Ugh...can't we be known for something else. Speaking of Romania, the guy already bought an LCD screen. Bummer.

I went to a Chinese Event today where there was typical high-pitched singing. I have no problem with that, but the speaker was right in front of our table and the sound system sucked, so instead of a melodious high-pitched voice, you ended up hearing a digitalized chirping ear-piercing unberable 120dB noise...my ears still hurt.

I'm so tired I didnt' even feel like blogging today...oh well...I did...but nothign much to say anyways... I need to cheer up for next week... I guess there's something on my mind I need to identify.

Today was a rather uneventful Friday...

I came to school at 10:30 hoping to take my math class, but I had no idea where it was, so instead I did my physics homework and talked to my cool teacher for a little review of NYA mechanics. It felt really good to understand everything and do the electricity/magnetism problem right in the first try.

I then talked for two hours with my organic chemistry teacher and another chemistry teacher about all sorts of moral issues in biotechnology, his wife, school, chemistry, physics and etc.

Then I saw Caro and we went together to the Honours Science meeting to see the new crop of students...nothing special there...we ended the day by a little shopping at Fairview, then I went home.

I don't feel so good lately...I wake up in the morning fine, but by the time it's night and I go to sleep, this weird depression hits me and I get all sad. By the time I wake up it's gone. Weird.

Well,

Things seem to have relaxed a bit. I got a workable WinMe Image that can repro teh SF bug that I have to fix....school wasn't that bad...I finished at 1:00 and went downtown with Caroline...

I just had a small homework today...and that's about it...I have some more for Monday but nothing big.

I did some more VB reversing today... was fun. I got the laptop money and I'm shipping it tomorrow morning first thing.

I'm going to go to my math class from 10:30 to 12:30 tomorrow, instead of the 1:00-2:30 one...then I'll spend some time with Caro..

A romanian guy called to buy my LCD Screen...I Hope we'll work out a deal...600$ more for me. I also sold chemistry at 85$.

Wow,

Just when I thought it couldnt' get worse....

Well...today wasn't so bad from one point of view...the courses...English was bearable (Odeta is in it haha)...although I said hi to this slut and she looked at me with this face of disgust. Stupid...what kind of last name is "War" anyways.

Phys-ed was uneventuful...class lasted 30 minutes... then I tried to find Caro but I didn't see her anywere...and went for a 1-hour Physics Lab with my cool quebecoise teacher. We played with Van der Graaf machines.

The bad stuff is that of course, the SF version I sent to Daniel had a bug, I lately seem to have weird pains in my stomach/urinating, I still have a headache, and it also sucked not to see Caro all day (I didn't see anyone I knew all day actually). Rather depressing. Oh and the blood results from Billy came back...turns out he suffers from anemia. Joy.

At least I fixed the SF thing Daniel wanted, and I tested it in Windows Me and it seems to work too. Hopefully that will be one of the last exechook fixes.

Hell Part Two

In between a horrible headache and a general state of suckyness, I've managed to get past the second day of school.

On the menu, a nice Organic Chemistry class, which was a 1-hour long review of hybridization. That's never bad but I hope the next classes will be some new stuff... still haven't learnt anything to help us do the homework.

Then I had a nice course of Physics, where I found out that my phys teacher really is a 25 year old quebecoise girl who barely graduated. She's really nice, cool ,and interactive, and she let me have the lab on Wednesday. This means I almost have Friday off, except for math 1:00-2:30 that I "should attend if I'm having problems". I'll try not to miss it more then 6 times (out of 15).

That also means Thursday I get to finish at 1:00, which is really cool. I don't know if Caro will want or can to go somewhere with me...depends of the days. I might want to get my CDs from Podaru since my mom has been bothering me with that for a while and I want to do my yearly laugh-at-mariano thing. But I'd really rather see my gf... I didn't see her at all today except for 2 minutes in the morning.

It's really starting to be depressing like that...I feel all isolated... I have to find a way to remote-connect to home and do some ROS/VB Work to keep me active during breaks (althought I dont have many).

Then I had a regular Math course.

Then I had the humanities with the crazy cat lady. Suffice it to say, yes, she's crazy... (she got sexually harassed by a teacher, and also "elaborated a mystery no other philosohper had ellucidated in 100 years" and then had to re-do her phd homework because the teacher thought it was prepostrous)....she also wants us to document EVERYTHING including "According to the medical encyclopdedia brittanice, the human heart pumps blood"...because it's something that might change, and it's not common knowledge....WTF??? whoever doesnt think its common knowledge should be shot!!! Anyways, she wasn't exagerating, she wants EVERY statement to be backed up by a footnoe. Yes, even "humans are mammals". After she gave us a 10 minute break after an hour, 30 out of 46 people left the class and never came back. Considering the course drop/exchange stuff is going on next weekend, I guess I'llb e the only one left in that class.

I also had the fucking displeasure of fixing a bug in the *OLD* sf code that I had to find and make sure it still worked and then fix the bug. Since it kept crashing on my Pc I had to set up the tests on another one... I hate this...I can't wait to get that re-write done and have a more stable environment.

In good news, I got ROS to load a simple Visual Basic EXE using a micro-runtime I wrote...maybe that will be a good past-time.

Fuck my head hurts...I hope squash will be cool tomorrow and the physics lab too...as for english, I don't even want to imagine.

Hell Begins

Well this is my first blog of the day...Monday August 23rd, beginning of school.

I'm in the library now, since I don't feel like going upstairs to the computer room. My English teacher sprained her ankle, so this d00d gave us the class outline and told us to leave. A great beginning!

Seems like the whole class is ready 5 short sorties for 2 weeks, then reading 3 books (including Anne of Green Gables..YUCK!) for the rest of the semester, each with three movies. There will be two essays (50%), a reading exam (20%), in-class work (15%), oral (10%) and participation (5%). Typical English stuff....I hope it all goes well!

I'll blog after math.

Well..I just had math. The bad news is that I still have class on Friday. The good news is that the teacher told me I could skip it once in a while...as long as I can still keep up with the course. So that means on Fridays when I wanna go out and have some free time or have a huge weekend project, I can stay home. The good news is that because of this I finish at 1:00 on Thursday, so I can go home even sooner.

Well organic wasn't so bad...it was a boring 2 hour lecture because the labs werne't supposed to be ready. On the good side though the teacher looks pretty cool and reminds me of Suzanne in a way...but he's really funny and childish. The math teacher didn't seem bad either...she's just a bit lost and I heard that if you don't do stuff her way you fail...so I'll do it her way and pass. I'm trying to suck up to her. Well this ends my day here at Abbott...5 minute English class, typical Math class, and 2 hour lecture-in-lab Organic class. Oh, and Charlie (the teacher) seemed me to know me. Probably my benzene burner incident from last semester.

Tonight I'll fix SF to take advantage of the few days I have without homework.

The stench of school approaches..

I have a massive headache tonight, so I need to go sleep...here's a short roundup of the latest happenings:

- Timo's computer now runs at 35 degrees idle after the chipset fan installation and artic silver 5. He's now cutting the additional chipset heatsink (which he didn't need) into 4 Video RAM heat-spreaders. The 2nd news: he accidentally bought another chipset fan and still has tons of Artic Silver 5 left...and hes giving it to me :D

- SPAMfighter's long-lasting exechook bug is related to Win9x. I've installed winme(YUCK!!!) in VMWARE and will be doing my best to fix this on Sunday before school starts.

- I saw Caro on Friday & Saturday and had quite some fun, except that now I have to sell the pants she just bought at blue marine on ebay (cause they suck!) Anyone interested?? 20$ US!!

- I sold the laptop at 940$ CSD! I never expected it to go so high.

- I'm getting Vonage VoIP in 2 weeks and cancelling cable TV.

My mom got her birthday gift this morning. A ring. She made a whole bitch fit about it and how much she disliked it and told me to give it away. Whatever, I hate people that are never happy. Whatever happened to "it's the thought that matters". Besides, it's not like it was free anyways, even it it wasn't the 3000$ she was expecting. Oh well.

Daniel (my boss) tried out my SPAMfighter rewrite and everything worked amazingly well. There were only a few bugs that I instantly fixed. The only things that still need re-writing are the COM Core and the Graphics.

Then I went out with Caro to shop around and we got hungry. Kelly was supposed to eat with us at Tres Amigos but she disappeared again, as always (and ended up calling at 5...).

Then we went to my house and ate... After that, I brought her to her bus station and went on to Timothy's house, where I finally had the chance to set up his new computer. It was a bitch, but I got it running. The problem is that it's doing around 60-90 degrees heating. He's going to buy some thermal paste today, as well as heatsinks for the Video RAM, plus a fan and cooling kit for the Northbridge/Southbridge. At least 100$ more. Intel is pushing my limits with their heat problems.

I finally got home where I re-wrote the whole COM Engine for SPAMfighter. It worked great on my computer. Daniel will have to test it tomorrow.

Life Status has been upgraded to 0.7! I'm planning some new features when school starts Monday... (Best/worst class maybe)

Rewriting

I've spent all day today re-writing something that took me 4 months to do. I erased it all and re-wrote it from scratch in about 3 days.

It's 2 times smaller (60kb to 30kb), fixes 36 bugs (Till now), adds 6 new features, works up to 365% faster in some scenearios (and at least 50% in general usage), and loads a full 5 seconds faster then before (basically instantly).

Sometimes I think it burns/kills my brain cells, but actually I think it keeps my brain active and alive. Anyways, all that was for SPAMfighter. Meanwhile, still no word on the f*cking Exechook crashes.

And no time to work on ReactOS or the VB Runtime stuff...hopefully I'll get to that tomorrow.

It's been a slow day lately so I havne't had much to write...

I've fixed one or two more SPAMfighter bugs and re-wrote three more functions that I'm going to test tonight.

ReactOS can now run SkyOS Apps, but it also can't install past the 2nd-stage loader for some reason.

I'm really thinking about going to LinuxWorld Germany October 26th-28th to attend and exhibit at the ReactOS Booth with the other developers that will be there. I've made quite a lot of friends my age (well, 3 or 4). I was telling Caroline it's pretty funny they all have girlfriends since the same time I do. And the ones that are in their 20ies ended up marrying them. LOL, I'll tell that to my mom as a counter argument :P

Yeah so I'd really like to go there...I've found plane tickets for about 500$ US Round-Trip, which isn't bad at all. And I'd really love Caroline to come. Filip from ReactOS is trying to convince his gf to go too :P

Last night, I went to see Collateral with Timothy. The filming looked like the producer ran out of money and did everythign with a Sony Handycam. It really looked like those cheesy made-for-TV productions...the night scenes were pixelated and really looked "real" in the sense anyone could've filmed it. Don't worry however, the movie is EXCELLENT. The acting is wonderful, Tom Cruise is finally playing a good role for the first time since... hell, 1994. And Jamie Foxx is wonderful too. Quite an original Hollywood movie, reminds me of the old detective movies they used to make. I loved it.

I'm also having fun reversing the VB Runtime...it's useful for quite some uses ;)

Today is my mom's birthday (11th actually). So hip hip hurray.

Hmm..I was frigging exausted today....I went to see Princess Diaries 2...and it sucked...made me fall asleep almost. But it was great spending some time with Caro. The night before I stayed up till 4am watching Harold and Kumar go to WhiteCastle...it's really an experience...its kinda like BEING in the movie...since you feel high, and the action is between 11pm-7am anyways. It was a damn funny movie...I really recommend it to people of all ages!

I'm helping Art Yerkes on ReactOS to get the ext2fs driver working for now. That means that ReactOS would be able to boot from/read ext2fs partitions! (Ext2fs is the file system used by Linux).

I was too tired to do much work on SPAMfighter today. I'll do that tomorrow...some weird new issue with exechook. I also got a new sale on Relsoft and have to help someone with the product.

Oh yeah, the funniest part of today was that my dad forgot my mom's birthday. Say it with me, "Shame".

Ok...it's 3am again and I really need some sleep. I'm not waking up till 2PM tomorrow.

Well, not much happened today... I saw Caro, Kewen ended up at my house and made food, and I did some more work on the I/O Manager in ReactOS. There's a _NEW_ issue with SPAMfighter, I'll have to look into it tomorrow. I also sold my laser on ebay for 300$ :)

Now I'd like share a personal story with you.
You see, I am the president of this company called Relsoft Technologies, and I now get around 250MB/day traffic, and hundreds of hits because of my article (and probably more once the NTFS article is up). I kindly gave my friend a subdomain. Then I spent an hour configuring a forum for her, and gave her full admin access (oh the stupidity).

So of course I post a message on the forum saying hi to all those people and that if they need anything done on the server, they can message me. What does my friend do? Delete the message.

Then I give myself admin access on the forum and do some maintenance work, like installing new modules and updates (to make sure my corporate website won't get hacked). What does my friend do? My friend not only DELETES my account, but also BANS my email/IP.

Now I find this utterly retarded. For starters, this forum runs on my SQL Database (SQL is a database format). All the forum posts, users, etcs, are actualyl entries in this database. So while my friend can ban me and feel proud as an admin on the frontend (Forum)...I'm still in control of the actuall SQL database where I can do where I want.

Worse, I actually gave my friend the fucking website and forum address. Now tell me, if some guy gives you the key to his house and lets you move in, are you going to change the lock and make sure he never gets in? It's still his fucking house, and he's sure as hell going to kick you out of there.

So of course I could either tell my friend to fuck off and post stupid messages on the site of forum (similar to graffiting your roommate's house after you get in), or I can simply delete everything and never talk to this person again (similar to kicking your roomate out and telling him to fuck off).

Now I always knew my friend was kind of a bastard, but I was willing to accept that. I mean, after all, I've done bad things in life to be first and on top too, so I can't blame my friend. As long as it didn't personally affect me, I don't care. But banning me from my own company website kind of pushes my limit. Besides, it's truly stupid. It's kind of like comitting suicide. You're fucking with a free service someone is giving you.

Siwen, I really thought you were smarter then that. I mean, sure, beat me in a competition, hack my website, blow up my PC, fire me from your company...whatever, those are good ways to piss someone off and show you're better. But...banning me from my own website? Now that's just retarded honey. Goodbye, YOU ARE THE WEAKEST LINK!

Oh yeah, some lessons in life for everyone
1) You know when Linux people tell you never to give root access to anyone? Don't.
2) Don't fuck with the wrong guy and think you'll get away with it.

I wrote a lot about this...it really amuses me... I guess for most people, this would hurt them. But I always knew my friend was like this, so I wasn't expecting anything better. I always thought she'd do something more evil though...not something as stupid as this. Oh well...it amused me!

Can't wait for Princess Diaries 2 tomorrow! And Caro!! YAY :D

Home Alone

Well, this is it, Day One of being all alone for a week.

I had lots of "Fun" trying to give Billy his medcine...after 24 minutes of exasperation with all sorts of tricks, i finally just took his guy, slid his mouth open and popped the pill inside. Took 4 seconds, and we were both much happier after. Sigh, a new adventure tomorrow morning.

I added the Rundown functions for ReactOS today as well as some basic Pool Quota and Priority stuff (ExAllocatePoolWithQuota/PsChargeProcessQuota & Friends). Tomorrow I'm fixing up that SF bug and from then on I have a week to get the signature working (I've got it all set up through Microsoft, just gotta pay them 99$ (daniel will reimburse me).

In doom 3, I've reached hell... I hope there's only one map as frankly I'm getting tired of the game...but this map is really cool though.

Oh well, downloading a couple of e-books now, and going to play till 3 or 4AM :P
I'm also eating cookies.

Time to blog again...it's been 2 days...been kind of tired and not much happening lately.

Looks like the SF Exechook issues are finally fixed...except maybe one that's going to take me a minute to fix tomorrow.

I'm working on Rundown functions for ROS right now...just 5 functions that aren't that hard to implement. Also trying to see which exported functions aren't tagged.

I went to Laronde today and it was pretty fun...didnt do much but still...then I went to eat...all with Caro duh :P

Haha she really likes the gigantic paul frank seat i got her...I'll bring it to her house Saturday evening.

Oh, Billy also got a dental cleanup which became a whole operation because his two teeth got infected...they got removed, but now I have to give him 4 pills everday for the next two weeks...pain killers and antibiotics, or else he'll die.

I also started playing Doom 3, and it really kicks ass!

The STUBS ARE DONE!!! YES!!

Also figured a way to fix the SPAMfighter Hook bug. If it works, the only thing remaning is the signature and then it's DONE!!! YES!!

I'm almost done implementing SYSENTER for ReactOS + I've forwarded the alignment bug to RedHat + NTOSKRNL/WIN32K/HAL can all be built with optimization. Once the top two things are done, then the work I had planned out for ROS is DONE!!! YES!!!

So it looks like everything is coming to closure right in time for starting school (August 23rd)

Apart from all that, I had a really great day today...nothing else to say.

Well I usually blog at night but I was too tired last night.

I had fun yesterday, went to Bob's house and there was a pretty little surprise waiting there for me ^^. Then we went to eat to a resto...some of the food wasn't good...like instead of mayonnaise..it was a mix of sour cream and God knows what. I don't usually complain about restos but ..yeah that was special.

Found a site + Bob sent me a RAR with like 400 java games for the cell phone... I'm going to copy them all and then pass the wire (99 cents on ebay versus 79$ in store). I also found out the phone perfectly plays mp3s. Oh well, can't match my iPOD.

Kanna from the MS OE team told me I should contact a Microsoft Escalation Engineer to get a "Request for Collaboration". I think that bascicall means paying a lot of money so I can take time from the developpers (who I know are all working hard on SP2/SP1/Longhorn).

I've just finished implementing SYSENTER support in ReactOS in the Native Call Interface...there's no way to debug it so I'll just have to test it blindly...not very fun... it's almost as bad as going from real to protected mode.

I also have to work on the SF Signature using the Winsock Hook Way, but first i have to fix some exechook error...maybe I should just dump it and go back to OEInject.

I saw The Manchurian Candidate Friday...it was pretty good...not as good as the original I hear, but still pretty powerful in our day and age.

The SPAMfighter Signature is giving me some problems though, but I managed to get hold of two developpers for Outlook Express (including the Lead Developper) who seem to be willing to help out. I hope it'll be fruitful.

Apart from that, Caro finished the Rtl Stubs so only Se are left... I think I'll do them probably...not that many.

I'm really hoping to have the Spamfighter signature stuff by next week...if all goes well, I should have a solution from MS on Monday...if not, I have a backup plan (Winsock API Hooking...not as clean, but I know it'll work).

Then I'll do SYSENTER for ROS.

SPAMfighter Signature!

The Signature finally works... 80%, and using a little hack, but it does work. I've emailed one of the developers at Microsoft and I'm waiting for a hopeful answer on how to avoid this hack, but I'm not putting too much hope into it.

Still no new work on ReactOS unfortunately, I'll have some major catching up to do this weekend. I'll have to finish the Se Stubs too.

I'm in communication with Microsoft over some showstopper bugs in the SP2 Checked Build... we'll be working together to have them fixed and hopefully avoid them in a Retail Build. I always thought how come everyone hates Microsoft and I don't...well... I kind of realized:

1) Most people who hate Microsoft are developpers. Microsoft doesn't give you very good support unless you don't pay up or have contacts. And their software is expensive.

Me: I have one on one support from Microsoft, either trough contacts or beta testing, sometimes I'm even on the phone directly with a dev.

2) Most users hate Microsoft because of pricing.

Me: I get it for free after working as a Beta Tester.

3) Complaints that you can't have any word to say about features/changes.

Me: As a beta tester, I can have that power.

4) Microsoft is closed source.

Me: I can have legal access to the source through school, but I haven't done so because of my work on ReactOS.

5) Microsoft is evil.

Me: Microsoft gives me free products, invites me to parties and clubs, and listens to my comments and gives me quality rapid feedback.

However, if I try to picture myself without these advantages, then yea, Microsoft isn't too nice. Then again, Linux won't install on my RAID Array. (There always seems to be a reason why Linux won't install on my Main PC...)

Can't wait to see Bourne again tomorrow.

Finally, I get some time to relax.

I've done all the major changes to SPAMfighter and it's ready for getting the Signature adding tomorrow. Can't wait for it to work fine...I've worked so much on this and it's the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

I wanted to see Bourne again today but Caro had work at 5...bummer...but I ate some really good crepes at Tutti Fruitti on St-Cath/Atwater...check it out!

By the end of the week, SF should be completed and all the ROS stubs too... I can't wait for that. I'll take a nice little break (probably one day lol)

I'm starting to miss Star Trek...the new season won't start till October...maybe I should watch the reruns if I'm bored :P

Oh well... Friday I should hopefully see Bourne, then Manchurian Candidate with Timo and then we'll finish up his computer, all the parts should have arrived.
I really want a 22.3 inch LCD screen...would help my eyes so much!

3AM Insane Coding

Well yesteray there was a little screwup. No futureshop and forgot to post...so I'm posting today instead. Well it's 3AM now so I'm counting "Today" was what actually happened yesterday, yesterday what happened two days ago. It's so confusing posting at this hour.

Well I got the DVD player today. It was only 100$, Samsung, and plays ANYTHING...mp3...wmpa...jpg...dvd..dvd+r...dvd-r...dvd+rw...dvd-rw...vcd..svcd...cd-r..cd-rw..
and the list goes on. it loads the whole thing in a couple of milliseconds. it was a great purchase and it's even progressive scan, YPrCb output, DTS 5.1... and slim and nice looking...defintealy a nice deal to replace the aging/broken Sony (which had cost 600$!)

I got VB to compile ASM code fine and now it likes it... parts of SPAMfighter have been greatly optimized and not it will be possible to add the final feature ( the registration signature). I only have around 4 more functions to reimplement in ASM, and then everything is ready for the signature code. The DLL will probably go down to 10KB before that's added.

Caroline still has to do the RTL Stubs (prototypes done) for ReactOS... didn't do much work in ROS lately because of SF...but that's allright. Arty needs to rewrite TCPIP anyways...and I will probably do Se stubs/prototypes this weekend.

I heard the whole boston area is reading my blog. Well, after frankly being sick with all the shit the SP2 Checked build was giving me, I went to the non-debug build, and everything seems to be working perfectly! W00T!

Tonight I'm going to finish the SpamFighter signature and then keep working on my VBASM addin...I've completed part 1, now time to work on part 2.

I'm running to Futureshop now to buy a DVD player, a cheap one, for my mom.

Today I had to go all the way to 12500 Sherbrooke Est to get Timo's LGA775 Pentium 4 520.... it looks cool...a mess to install though I believe...we'll see once he gets the motherboard. I think I'll go with his dad and him to get more components tomorrow, and the mobo should be here Monday.

I'm doing some crazy work for Spamfighter tonight...going to implement ASM into my DLL Compiler so I Can code some stuff in ASM in VB...lol. I wish I could rewrite the whole thing in C but I don't know how my boss would like that. Oh well...its fun...and I can get my mind of ROS a bit. I hope Caro will do those Rtl stubs over the weekend...meanwhile I'll work on Spamfighter to finish the signature (now I can't even get it to load properly on my checked build...trying to figure out why! (something about class not found...even if I registered it).

Meh...looks like a nuit blanche :P

1) You spend 3 days getting a Checked Build to run, and then find out it's not a supported beta scenario

2) Your best friend's ordered motherboard can't be shipped for a month, so you have 30 minutes to find a replacement, luckly, you do, but you're exausted.

3) You get your Gunbound Avatar login back, only to make a mistake and lose 10$.

4) The movie you've been waiting on for two years finally hits cinema, and you promised to see it with two people with different schedules. You make your best friend skip work and lose 80$ to fit that schedule, only to find out it was totally useless since your girlfriend has to work that day.

5) It's 40 degrees outside

6) You get yelled at for all previous points saying it was all your fault anyways. Well...what a great day.
Both my PCs fucked up last night....I tried to reinstall them...but everything failed...then I finally reinstalled, but I started getting crashes on my main PC, and freezings...I had no idea what was wrong...and I kept kaputt... I think I pissed off Caro too...sigh.

Anyways, everything is back to normal now...just need to re-install Office and VB...all the other programs are back...and the server PC is fixed too...just needed a 1-hour long chkdsk /p /f /r.

Bindimage was ported to Linux so now we can run it right after compilation on Linux/Win32.

I got the new C 8.0 (2005)...looks pretty cool...and gave Caro a lesson on variables :D
Gonna tell her to install it too tonight.

Oh and...system restore rulz :P

I finally got to see Daniel today and we did some work on SPAMfighter...fixed like 5 bugs and it shouldn't be crashing anymore...if no other bugs are found then I will implement the signature =)

I did some preliminary work on Rtl Stubs today...just to find which are easy findable... I'm missing information on the IP and TRACE DATABASE ones...the IP should be easy to gues..the tracer ones I don't know. I'll ask Caro to do the others if she has time/wants to. I should start giving her c lessons...that would help.

BindImage had like 10000 bugs but I fixed them all.... nevertheless, during the buggy period, it manage to fuck up most of my DLL files.... I don't actually know if that "Bug" is still there...because my system is hosed. I'll have to install the new build of SP2 anyways. I tried it in ReactOS though and it bound all the files just fine...go figure. So it's SP2 reinstallation time tomorrow.

I'm trying to find an app/code that would realign executables...I know walign used to do that (from Microsoft back in the Office 97 days....)...that would bypass the LD bug (those bastards aren't even replying me).

Hmm..

I'm not in a good mood...my mom called me while I was talking to Caro and she left before I could say anything...and I didn't have time to say bbye...ang...I feel bad abt this... I don't like it...

I've finished writing BindImageEx and friends, and it all works well under ReactOS. Also got optimization flags to be used. If only ld gets fixed to support low-alignment and I'll be a happy camper. I've also submitted Ps stubs done by Caro...only Rtl and Se remain.

I practiced some more cases with my mom today...it's so fun to act like a sick person and to know what you have to do and everything...just that sometimes she forgets to ask some things she should :P

I've gotta call a bunch of computer stores tomorrow for Timo's Computer...it's seriously going to kick ass...I hope they have the parts though...on one end, they are new so rare, but also expensive and not many people will want them. In any case, his computer will rule. I can't wait to install it. He's alone all week so maybe I'll crash at his house sometime.

Caro has work tomorrow till the afternoon so I'll be alone...sigh. I got asked a weird question today...would I rather have sex till I die or eat chocolate...that's kinda easy to answer.

Tomorrow I'll be working exclusively on SPAMfighter and probably for the next days too. I've done my current share of work in ROS and I'm pleased. I'll make a nice frontend for bind to run during first install, but that's about it. The week after I'll add Rtl Stubs and start working on Winsock NSP (Namespace Providers).

I take math classes from MIT now. It's pretty cool. Time for my class now, then I go to bed (it's 2:30AM...).

It's so hot today...I hate it!

I woke up at 10 today and started working on BindImageEx. It's now 1AM and I'm still working on it. Long live ReactOS!

I still haven't seen Daniel for working on SPAMfighter :(

The stupid Gunbound freaks won't let me log into my avatar page anymore...I wanted to buy some new things with my new 350 000 gold :P

The China fireworks were amazing.... I could hear them from my house...boom booom for 30 minutes...I Bet it was something grandiose and big... duh...they invented fireworks :P

I also had fun playing a sick patient so my mom could practice for her exam. Oh well.

I've had such a hectic week I feel like I'm going to die.

2500 lines of C in a week...whoa. Now I'm trying to get the System Calls to work...they are giving me such a pain because of the way they are shared in u-mode, k-mode and in different libraries.

I saw I Robot today....it wasn't that bad...the ending didn't suck like it could've, it actually came back to the original Asimov idea of robots. But it could've been better in many more ways. Nevertheless, it was worth seeing. Anchorman I'll download.

Hmm I decided what to buy from Bleu Marine...it'll cost 250$ lol...but I'll make my dad pay since he says I dress like a dumb (Riiiiiiiiiiiiight).

Tomorrow I hope to have completed the Syscall Stubs as well as Ps*, and I'm waiting on Daniel from SPAMfighter to come online so I can send him the new version...I couldn't today. I should concentrate more on SF next week, I've been busy with ReactOS. I've almost got the signature and crashes fixed...only some little issues remaning.

AFD/Winsock (networking in ReactOS) is THIS >-< close to being a sucess. I've got everything working right now in Windows except WSPConnect which is giving me trouble...probably errors with binding.

Today I went at the Mission to fix somet things and install Ofice...saw a weird fight..but that place is always weird. Then I saw Bob and Christine at McGill, ate at Edo, then went shopping. I saw some really nice stuff at Monde des Athletes (50% off the second sale) and at Bleu Marine...the shirt I liked at BM was 180$+ Tax though....for a fucking chemise!!! But they had nicer stuff at ~80$....but MDA is 50% so I'l probably buy from there (BM is only 30% off). Then I came home and I still haven't seen fucking Mario to sell the ipaq.

Podaru wants to come over tomorrow again but I'd much rather go see a movie with Caroline if her mom lets her out... I Robot :P

I *finally* fixed AFD in ReactOS to make it work with UDP Sockets. God it was such a PAIN in the *ASS*.

Nice day today...did some work on SPAMfighter...and lots on ReactOS. Forgot to go to the Mission so I'm gonna go tomorrow....ah now I have a reason to see Mario in the afternoon to sell him my iPAQ...cool. With the money from my dad that should make 500$. Hopefully I can get ~300$US from Spamfighter as well. And with my monthly money for August I should have ~ 1000$ US gains for this summer...oh... I'm also gonna get my glasses money back (insurance) so that'll go up to 1300$ US. Should pay back the LCD screen and iPOD, as well as the reacing wheel. The other stuff is mostly covered by my mom's 200$/month allowance. So I shouldn't be in the negative.

I, Robot starts Friday....yes yes it's a big shame to the whole Asimov culture but I bet it'll still be a good movie. And sadly people are judging it without having seen it. I've heard the ending is very Asimov-ish and actually respects the 3 laws of robotics.

Premiere moisson perrier is a rip-off. 3$ for 300mL...

Well, much to the dismay of Timo I now have a blog.
This isn't my first blog though, I used to have one on Xanga...but that was when I was young and stupid.

If any of you are looking for personal sad stories, sorry, look somewhere else. This is just my place to write my random thoughts and notes...and will probably bore you with computer stuff.

Ah...the computer...what a wonderful device. I'm building one for Timo soon... I'm trying to get good prices on the parts (Mr. is getting impatient).

I had a nice week until now (well...except one thing...) and I went shopping and seeing Caro. Argh...damn it, I left my bike at Peel...I have to get it tomorrow.

I'm almost done with Winsock on ReactOS... I think we should have MIRC running quite soon. I'm rebuilding today's CVS Build....if you don't know what ReactOS is, get it at www.reactos.com.

What else...ah...my article got posted on rootkit.com...pretty cool...it's a kernel hacking magazine. I'm planning on posting something more interesting soon (user-mode syscall hooks).
